It’s just tiny windows of wavelengths.  But in it lies everything we’ve ever seen, or ever will see.  Isaac Newton called it the Spectrum, convinced that the seven colors he saw were like notes on a musical scale.  This November 18th, the GO Jazz Big Band under the direction of Brian Leff will explore the relationship between color and sound with a very special concert entitled Spectrum.

Featuring fantastic music from Count Basie, Soundgarden, Maria Schneider, Duke Ellington, and many others, Spectrum takes place at 3:00 pm in the West Ranch High School Theater taking full advantage of theatrical lighting and sound to craft an unforgettable sonic and visual experience.  Songs include jazz classics like Blue Moon, Yellow Days, and Mood Indigo, along with great settings of pop songs like It Ain’t Easy Being Green and Black Hole Sun.  Vocalist Steve Lively is back again doing songs made famous by Frank Sinatra and Paul Anka, and the band will burn its way through some great charts by Tom Kubis and Rob McConnell.

From deep red to sunny yellow to moody violet, be sure to experience Spectrum as performed by local stars the GO Jazz Big Band on Sunday afternoon, November 18 at 3:00 pm.
